Protective order hearings are often over in under an hour. What you carry into the room matters enormously.
First: a written timeline of incidents with dates. Second: photographs of any injuries or property damage. Third: printed text messages, emails and voicemails.
Fourth: police reports and any medical records. Fifth: a witness who saw something firsthand, if one exists.
Organize it chronologically in a folder. Judges notice preparation, and it lets your attorney tell a clean, credible story.
